Male Champion - CJ Godfrey (16:16)
Female Champion - Julie Groo (19:57)
CJ Godfrey was the returning champion for the 2003 HotFoot 5K trail run held at the SK Community Park in Port Orchard on Saturday, June 28th. With sunny weather, CJ broke his previous year's course record of 16:59 by 43 seconds, finishing at 16:16. Julie Groo was the first female to finish this year with another course record of 19:57 for the women. Julie beat Danita Erickson's 2002 time of 20:16 by 19 seconds.
The HotFoot is a trail run during the Port Orchard Fathoms O' Fun which drew in 111 participants for the 5K, 1-mile, and kids dash distances this year. The run is conducted at the SK Community Park off Jackson and Lund in Port Orchard because the park is large enough to allow a one loop, primarily off road, 5K course.
