2010

Trail grooming for the 9th annual HotFoot 5K was conducted by Mike & Debi Smith, Jeff & Ty Orser, Adam & Erica Runyan, Jeramiah Lilly, and Debby Oliver. RS Lucke not shown.


2009

While preparing the trails for the 2009 HotFoot, work started with Mike & Debi Smith, Rick and Jonathon Niemi, and John Ringos. By the end of the work party, Forrest Church, Cassy Smith, and Parker Stearns had pitched in.


2008

Two groups showed up for the 2008 trail grooming in preparation for the 7th annual HotFoot 5K. The first group consisted of Mary, Makyla, Debi, Mike, Maggie, Ezra, and Keelia. The second group was worked by Melissa, David, Lawrence, Molly, and Jake. Like with every year, the trail was worked the weekend before the run.


2007

In preparation for the 6th annual HotFoot 5K and Kids dash, a work party was held for trail grooming of the course. SKFR Volunteer Association members and community volunteers conducted a work party to groom trails in the South Kitsap Community Park on Saturday, June 16th . The work party was conducted by (pictured left to right) Donald Langman, Lawrence Mecklenburg, Jim Fergunson, Abbie Ferguson, David Barr, and Keelia Lucke.


2006

In preparation for the 5th annual HotFoot 5K and Kids dash, a work party was held for trail grooming of the course. SKFR Volunteer Association members and community volunteers conducted a work party to groom trails in the South Kitsap Community Park on Saturday, June 17th . The work party was conducted by (pictured left to right) Debi Smith, Cassy Smith, Dylan Herrera, Kari Herrera, Nathan Ashton, Samantha Ashton, and Lawrence Mecklenburg.


2005

Trail grooming for the 4th annual HotFoot 5K was done by Darren, Lawrence, Chuck, Matt, and Debi.


2004

Mike and Debi Smith, Lawrence Mecklenburg, Tim O'Neill, Chuck Kuhn and RS Lucke spent their Saturday afternoon grooming trails in the SK park in preparation for the 3rd Annual HotFoot 5K. All went well until Mike sacraficed himself to learn the location of a hazardous bees nest along the trail. Trail grooming in that area was stopped and Mike tended to over a half a dozen stings.



 


2003

Samir Mehio and Tim O'Neill helped the volunteer association work force to clear the trails on the 5K course.

In preparation for the 2003 HotFoot 5K to be held on Saturday, June 28th, a work party was conducted on Saturday, June 21 between 10:30 and 2:00 P.M. Two fallen trees were cut away and some holes filled as well as general trail grooming done to clear the path for the annual 5K. As an added bonus, the park officials asked our man power to help clear out the old storage box that was falling apart and targeted for removal.


2002

In preparation for the first annual HotFoot 5K and Kids dash, a work party was held for trail grooming of the course. On June 22nd, 2002 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm volunteers gathered to rake trails and cut away any debris that may interfere with the 5K course.
It was a lot of work but the group managed to open up a large section of trail.

Aaron Archer followed up with his troop (#1526) of Boy Scouts and spent three days re-cutting and leveling an abandoned section of trail. Very impressive work.
